Now the days of Christmas and its deep symbology are arriving…and not a moment too soon. For its message is uniquely powerful for these times we are in when separation and division are so ripe and rampant at the collective and individual levels. Everyone is being affected directly and indirectly, consciously and unconsciously with the messages of media and other mental avenues. Sadly people are being coaxed and even encouraged into taking differing mental positions and sides. It is in the very thought atmosphere that surrounds us.
At Christmas we celebrate the birth of Jesus, who brought to us the teachings and modeling of the Christ Identity. As scholars tell us, “Christ” was not Jesus’ last name, but his True Divine Identity. The Christ, which the Apostle Paul stated was “Christ in you, the hope of glory”, is the name of God in man, the True Spiritual Being in you, and God’s True Nature whom He created as “His image and likeness” in you.
Nothing could be more important for a person than using the gift of this life to become Self-Realized, to awaken in consciousness to this Sacred Christ Self, and to learn to live from It as their True Identity, connected to Divine Presence. It is the main purpose we are here. For, in not knowing our True Identity, we invented another identity, a small self, known as ego, made up of mental lies and illusions. Ego is the voice of separation, the absence of the true knowledge of who and what you really are. It represents states of consciousness apart from God that seek to slay thoughts and emotions of love and oneness.
In the Christmas story found in the 2nd chapter of the gospel of Matthew, Herod is king, and he makes every effort to find and to slay the baby Jesus. Herod metaphysically represents the ego, the mind’s conditioned-in concepts, thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and desires that attempt to cancel out and replace (destroy) the Christlike ideals.
At this time of Christmas, may you remember a powerful message that is in addition to celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and His teachings. May you give birth within or bring to the forefront of your awareness the truth that you have within you the perfect God image and likeness,…the True and Sacred God Self. In this life that you and I have been called to, the spiritual work we’ve been given is to tend to the tender care and keeping of this “Christ in you,” and to not allow it to be given over to the keeping of Herod (ego). Transcend the ego thoughts and messages that currently fill the air with fear and mental positioning of opposition.
Stay positive, radiant, and free! Stay fun loving, joyous, giving, peaceful, and calm. Meditate regularly. Honor your True Identity and the birth of that which God gave you from the very beginning. Care for it and help it mature in your awareness as the love, peace, joy, and oneness, which is the nature of your Maker.
Christmas is sacred. Life is sacred.
AND, as I always like to affirm; Life is meant to be good!
