God wants to know your “Desires”

This month I am led to touch on the subject of “desire.”  I believe that desire has sometimes gotten a bad rap.  There are those who have come to believe, sometimes from Eastern teachings, that desire is a bad thing and one to detach from.

Yet, desire can be a good thing.  Things such as the desire to:

  • help others,
  • be healed,
  • be more loving,
  • advance in one’s career,
  • provide well for one’s family,
  • be a good mother or father,
  • learn, grow and evolve spiritually.

Healthy desire is actually an important ingredient in moving people and society forward.

As one spiritual master shared, when Buddha addressed the matter of desire being that which leads a person to suffering, he meant only those desires that become “cravings.”  For craving can lead to suffering in that it is desire which is rigid, narrow, all consuming and can’t be let go by the mind.  It tends to be driven by ego and the separate self.  It takes one off center spiritually.

God wants to “Co-create”
God wants to know your desires.  God wants to help manifest through you.  God wants to experience Itself through you and co-create.  As long as one’s desires have good in them and do no harm to anyone, our desires are of God.  Remember the good you seek is seeking you.  And the good you seek is the activity of God offering to your consciousness the opportunity to move toward bringing forth more of Itself.  Desire is “of God.”

Have a wonderful Fourth of July and celebrate the steps you are taking toward inner freedom as you celebrate the freedom of the nation in which you live.

James Van Praagh,
This vibrant, potent book of hard won experience and wonderfully evocative wisdom. This book is testament to the revelation that we are God Stuff incarnate in biodegradable space-time suits. What Howard Caesar has given us is the key to unlock the truth of our nature–that we are inseparable from the One. What is thrilling in this work is the ways in which we are led to discover the implications of this Oneness for our everyday lives. Herein we move from lostness to gathering foundness, from despair to higher destiny. And, perhaps, best of all, that our journey in this life is ultimately about exploration into God.
